Even if we are sitting very close to the screen, let’s say at a 60 degree viewing angle, the pixels are getting so small that we cannot tell the difference between 4k and 2k resolution anymore.

A 4k resolution requires a lot more bitrate compared to a lower resolution to avoid artifacts.
